Sassy Aurora

Hi! I am Aurora and I am the original Poster girl for overcoming mange!
I arrived into care not only with life threatening mange but a bad case of pneumonia as well. It took many weeks to over come it and once I started feeling better and I had more energy, I started to go on daily walks outside to graze and forage.  My fur started to go grow back and everyone said it was the most beautiful coat and so I became a supermodel! I am an example of what can happen if you follow the SASSY steps! After spending some time in soft release, I made my way into wild and sometimes I am spotted on the wild life cameras around the area, striking my best supermodel pose!
Here are some of my best supermodel poses!

Sassy Inola

Hi Everyone! I was lucky to be found after my Mum was hit by a car. The impact damaged my teeth and hurt my claws but I managed to survive all by myself until I got sick with mange. I was very sick and the mange was so bad that it had fused my eyes shut. Blinded, I wandered around until a hero followed the SASSY steps and so I was rescued. When I came into care, I was a bit growly and fiesty but I was used to having to defend myself which is what kept me alive. It wasn't long before I realised that bottles and cuddles from my new Mum, Judy were just lovely and so I settled into being cared for and loved.
After I got well and put on the right amount of weight, I was released into my new home which meant that I could dig burrows and forage for myself to get ready for going back into the wild.
I am now back in the wild and living my best life.

Sassy Kay - Anne

Hi! I am Kay-Anne and it is nice to meet you!
I was found with mange and was very sick. I only weighed 6kgs and was very hungry which is why I ate everything my new Mum put in front of me.
When I first came into care I was in isolation and intensive care but I could hear and smell another wombat nearby. I found out her name was Juniper and when I was well again, we became best friends and had many adventures together.
I was so lucky that I was found and now Juniper and I are in our special soft release place that helps us get ready to go back into wild and start our lives over.
The day I came into care.

Sassy Lior

Well hello! I am the divine Miss Lior!
My name means Full of Light and after a rocky start in care, I am now the best helper around the place. I came in with severe mange and was really sick. I lost a lot of my fur and felt the cold. When the mange was cleared, I then got sick with coccidiosis and did not have the strength to come out of my burrow. I was very lonely but My new Mum gave me a soft toy with a heartbeat and I felt much better cuddling up to it. I was still not gaining weight but then these special biscuits arrived and I couldn't eat enough of them. I started to feel much better and felt like play time and cuddles. I am still in care until my fur coat has grown but until then I live my best life helping everyone outside and in the kitchen.
